When it comes to taking care of your body and mind, it matters where you do that work. I built Pila-Teas to be more than a place you come in, do a workout, and leave. It's Pilates, tea, and art, three things that don't usually sit under one roof, brought together because I think healing works better inside a real community than it does inside a transaction.

What makes Pila-Teas comprehensive wellness?

Comprehensive, to me, doesn't mean offering everything under the sun. It means treating the whole experience, not just the hour on the reformer, as part of your wellness. That's rehabilitative Pilates and massage at the center, but it's also the space around it: a place to slow down before or after a session, to sit with a cup of tea, to notice the art on the walls instead of rushing straight out the door.

What does rehabilitative Pilates at Pila-Teas involve?

Rehabilitative Pilates is the core of what I do. It's a controlled, precise practice that strengthens your core, improves posture, and restores function, especially valuable if you're recovering from an injury or managing chronic pain. Every session gets built around where your body actually is that day, using the reformer, Cadillac, Pilates chair, barrel, or mat, whatever the work calls for. I often pair it with massage, since the two support each other, movement rebuilds function, massage helps release what's holding on around it.

What is the Tea Bar at Pila-Teas?

The Tea Bar isn't a coffee shop bolt-on, it's part of how I think about care here. Members can pour a cup from the Art of Tea selection, like Apricot Escape or Butterscotch, in the reception and gallery area before or after a session, a small ritual that gives you a minute to actually land in your body instead of rushing back out into your day. It's a small thing, but it changes the feel of the whole visit.

What's the Art Gallery at Pila-Teas?

The walls at Pila-Teas feature local artists, paintings and photography from people in this community, alongside a small footprint of my own pottery and leather work. Pila-Teas is in the historic Penguin Building, and I wanted this space to feel like it belongs to the Art District that surrounds it. Healing and creativity aren't separate things to me, they coexist.

Why does a boutique, community-centered space matter?

A smaller, focused studio means you're not just another slot on a schedule. I get to know your history, your goals, what's actually going on in your body, and build sessions around that instead of running you through a standard program. That's true of the Pilates and massage work, and it's true of the space itself, this is a place meant to be lingered in, not just passed through.

How do I get started?

If you're ready to experience what comprehensive wellness looks like here, the New Client Special is the best place to start, or a one-on-one consult where we talk through what you need before building anything around it. Come sit with a cup of tea, enjoy the art, and let's figure out where to begin.
